Essential Oils are the aromatic properties of a plant.
Where do they come from?
When you smell a lemon, you are actually experiencing the essential oil of a lemon. Essential oils come from plants of all variations.
How are the oils removed from the plant?
They are steam distilled from the roots, stems, leaves, needles, flowers or cold pressed from the rind of a citrus fruit. The essential oil is a fatty sack that sits on the plant and it is what the plant uses to ward of predators or illness. Essentially, this is the immune system of the plant. Simply stated, we are using the immune system of a plant to support our immune systems. Pretty awesome!
Why do they work so well?
Like humans, essential oils are carbon based. When you use an essential oil on or in your body, your body recognizes it and instinctively knows how to utilize the oil to support your body. This means there are no side effects when you are using essential oils, just side-benefits.
Example: If you use a drop of Frankincense under your tongue for the anti-inflammatory properties, you will also get the emotionally calming and balancing benefits of this oil.
How much? How often?
Dosage is always important. With Essential Oils, less is more, so one to two drops every 15-20 minutes, until you feel like you have gotten the therapeutic benefits is ideal.
Where can I add Essential Oils into my Life?
Most essential oils can be added to food. Remember the less is more rule, one drop and sometimes less is all that is needed. Many of our recipes call for 1 drop of a specific essential oil. Essential Oils are a must have in any kitchen spice cabinet!! Drop in water, under the tongue or in a gel cap to support mouth, throat and overall health.
Aromatic – Diffuse into the air
There are many benefits to diffusing essential oils into the air. Some essential oils like OnGuard and Purity cleanse the air we breath and remove odors, leaving your home smelling amazing!
Pure Essential Oils can be applied directly or with a carrier oil; this depend on the sensitivity to the skin and what type of oil. Apply to the bottoms of feet or affected areas to target needs.
